ORDINANCE NO. 2-87
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17-25 OF THE REVISED ORDI-
NANCES OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS PERTAINING TO THE BOARD OF
HEALTH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF
BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA, THAT SECTION 17-25 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS BE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS:
Section 17-25. Duties Generally
The Board of Health shall give the City Commission all
such advice and information as it may require in regard
to the public health; and whenver it shall hear of the
existence of a toxic or potentially hazardous environ-
mental condition or contagious or pestilential disease
it shall immediately investigate the same and adopt
necessary measures to arrest its progress. The Board
of Health shall exercise general supervision over the •
sanitary laws of the state and city. For the purpose
of carrying out these requirements it shall be permitted
at all times, for good cause, to enter any private or
public property to do whatever is necessary to make
a thorough examination of the premises.
Any and all ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
