ORDINANCE N0. 24-89
AN ORDINANCE REVISING CHAPTER 16 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF
BROORINGS, SOUTH DAROTA AS FOLLOWS, TO-WIT:
I.
Section 16-42. Use restricted.
Any family domestic unit, commercial establishment or educa-
tional facility may haul garbage, rubbish and waste material orgi-
nating on the premises of such family domestic unit, commercial
establishment or educational facility to the sanitary landfill
provided that they shall pay the same charges as are charged to
licensed commercial garbage haulers and commercial establishments
hauling their own garbage pursuant to the current charges as
established by resolution of the city commission. Persons who
are not residents of the city shall pay the rates for disposal of
refuse as established by resolution of the city.
Section 16-48. Payment of charges.
The charges f or disposal of refuse shall be paid either in
advance at the city finance office or upon receipt of a monthly
statement, and the city finance officer shall, upon receipt of
payment, give appropriate credit therefor.
Section 16-49. Control of ingress and egress; collection of
tickets.
The landfill supervisor shall be responsible for the control
of ingress and egress to the city landfill. He shall collect all
tickets at the gate and shall insure that the ticket submitted is
the appropriate and proper ticket for the size load desiring
entrance to the city landfill. It shall be the duty of the land-
fill supervisor to insure that each person desiring admittance to
the city landfill shall have the proper ticket based upon the type
of vehicle and its capacity and in accordance with the charges for
use as specified by resolution of the city commission.
II.
Sections 16-24, 16-26 , 16-27 and 16-47 are hereby repealed.
