Four of the members would be appointed from the City and three from the County. The Board feels that this is a positive move to allow for additional input at Board level and to provide a wider area of expertise amongst the Board members. Section 18-19. Coaposition, appointment under Article II of the Brookings Code specifies that there will be five members, three of whom shall be from the city, and two from the county. This is proposed to be changed to seven members with four members coming from the city and three from the county. We have attached a proposed revision which would be discussed at a future city and county commission luncheon. I would appreciate you advising of any potential problems you see with approaching the commissions with this change to the section of code noted, or if there are any other areas that would require changing, problems that we could expect to encounter, etc. The Board will be meeting again on February 22, 1990 to further discuss this issue before meeting with the commissioners.
