ORDINANCE NO. 16-91
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE VI OF CHAPTER 10 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS AND PERTAINING TO TERMS OF OFFICE
OF MEMBERS OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS,
SOUTH DAKOTA, AS FOLLOWS, TO-WIT:
I.
section 10-92. Composition, Terms.
The commission shall consist of not less than seven (7) nor more
than ten (10) members who shall be appointed by the city commission
with due regard to proper representation of such fields as history,
architecture, urban planning, archaeology and law. All members of the
commission shall reside within the city.
Al1 members of the Historic Preservation Commission shall be
appointed for three-year terms at the first regular meeting of
January. In the event a vacancy occurs on a date prior to the first
regular meeting of January, then the vacancy may be filled by
appointment for a term not exceeding three (3) years which shall
expire prior to the first meeting of January. Each member shall be
eligible for appointment for one (1) additional term.
II.
All Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
