AN ORDINANCE REVISING THE TERMS AND ELECTION OF OFFICERS OF
AIRPORT BOARD MEMBERS OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS,
SOUTH DAKOTA, AS FOLLOWS, TO-WIT:
I.
SeCtion 4-21. Terms.
The term of office of the members of the airport board shall be
so arranged that the term of only one (1) member shall expire each
year, and that all terms shall expire on the first Monday in January.
At the first regular meeting of the city commission in January of each
year, the commission shall appoint one (1) member of the airport board
to succeed the one (1) whose term expires. In the event a vacancy
occurs on a date other than the first Monday of the year, then the
vacancy may be filled by appointment for a term to expire on the first
Monday of January.
Section 4-24. Officers.
The airport board shall annually and on the third Friday in
January of each year, elect from their number a president and
vice-president, each of whom shall serve for a period of one (1) year
or until their successor is elected. The vice-president shall act in
the absence or disability of the president. The city finance officer
shall be the secretary of the airport board.
II.
All Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
