• Attend Monthly Brookings County Planning Commission Meetings
• County Address Range GIS Data Set Maintenance (SD One Call data set)
• County Road Centerline GIS Data Set Maintenance (SDDOT data set
• Prepared Pre-disaster Mitigation Grant Application – Project awarded $14,512 grant awarded
in 2012
• Preparing County Pre-disaster Mitigation Plan – Project to be completed in 2013
Aurora
• Completed Comprehensive Land Use Plan and Zoning Ordinance and developing Joint
Jurisdictional Zoning Ordinance.
• Conducted Voter Ward Redistricting Analysis
Brookings (City)
• Assisted in preparation and submission in SDDENR SRF application for Nelson 5th Addition
Detention Pond - $549,476 loan in 2012 approved
• Assisted in preparation and submission in SDDENR SRF application for Camelot Square Storm
Sewer project- $3,222,319 loan in 2012 approved
• Prepared and submitted a DENR SRF application for 1th Street lift Station - $100,000
Consolidated grant awarded in 2012 and $255,000 loan in 2012 – City waived acceptance of
grant and loan.
• Assisted in preparation and submission in SDDENR SRF application for pre-treatment project
and Wastewater system improvements - Project awarded $1,000,000 Consolidated grant
awarded in 2012and $30.6 million loan.
• Prepared and submitted CDBG Grant application for Brookings Boys and Girls Club – Project
awarded $412,000 grant awarded in 2012.
• Assisted in preparation of $500,000 Economic Development Administration grant application
for 32nd Avenue improvements – Project was not funded.
• Assist in the administration of DENR SRF loan projects – Nelson 5th Addition, Camelot Square,
Municipal Utilities, Pheasant Nest
Bruce
• Prepared and submitted Community Access Grant Application – Project was not funded
• Conducted Voter Ward Redistricting Analysis
Bushnell - Administered Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant. Bushnell received $11,690
grant in 2010

Elkton
• Administered DENR SRF Loan being utilized for wastewater lagoon project – Elkton received
$510,000 SRF Loan with $130,000 principal forgiveness in 2009.
• Conducted Voter Ward Redistricting Analysis
Sinai
• Administered Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant. Sinai received $12,400 grant in
2010
• Prepared and submitted State Water Plan application for wastewater project
• Prepared and submitted Small community planning grant- Project received $8,000 grant in
2012.
Volga
• Administered Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant. Volga received $109,700 grant in
2010 and $41,576 grant in 2012
• Prepared and submitted $161,500 Trails Grant Application – Project was not funded.
• Prepared and submitted $10,000 Land and Water Conservation Grant Application for
swimming pool improvements – Project was not funded.
• Prepared and submitted $24,642 Land and Water Conservation Grant Application for Crow’s
Nest with Bleachers – Project was not funded.
• Conducted Voter Ward Redistricting Analysis
• Conducted CDBG Income Survey – Community did not meet standards
White - Conducted Voter Ward Redistricting Analysis
Miscellaneous
• Planning & Zoning Administration assistance: Aurora, Elkton, White, Brookings County
• Obtained District-wide grants for economic development and GIS Training – Brookings
County Share - $19,387.
• Partnered with local lenders in providing $3,900,000 in financing to 5 businesses with total
project costs of $10,607,632.
• Conducted dairy site analysis for East Dakota Water Development District.

4. Council Reports
4A. Ex-Officio Reports
Pursuant to council direction, “City Council Member Ex-Officio Reports” will be a
standing agenda item at all Council Work Sessions. The Council Members that
serve as Ex-Officio members on the Brookings Health System Board of Trustees
and Utility Board will provide verbal reports regarding recent meetings they have
attended.
