Action on Resolution 17-049, a Resolution Canvassing the April 11, 2017 Municipal Election Ballots.
Summary:
The Brookings City Council will conduct the official canvass of the April 11 Municipal election.
Background:
The Brookings CC, acting as the official canvass board, is charged with the following responsibilities:
1)Review the returns from each Vote Center,
2)Review the E-PollBook Voter List,
3)Determine the returns are genuine and not forged,
4)Tabulate the returns from the Vote Center and declare the result,
5)Sign and approve the official Canvass Sheet, and
6)Take official action to approve Resolution 17-049, Canvassing the April 11, 2017 Municipal
Election.

Resolution 17-049
Canvassing the April 11, 2017 Municipal Election
Whereas, on the 11th day of April, 2017, there was held in the City of Brookings, South
Dakota, an election for the purpose of electing a Mayor (1-Year Term) and two City
Council Members (3-Year Terms); and
Whereas, the judges and clerks of said election have returned to the City Council of the
City of Brookings the official results for the purpose of the Official Canvass; and
Whereas, the City Council on April 18, 2017 has canvassed the results for the purpose
of determining the official election outcome; and
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved by the City Council of the City of Brookings, South
Dakota that the official vote at the City Election held April 11, 2017 was as follows:

the jurisdiction of the City of Brookings for the Municipal Election held on the 11th day of April, 2017,
hereby certify that the foregoing is a true abstract of the votes cast in the jurisdiction of Brookings at
the election as shown by the returns certified to the person in charge of the election.
