ORDINANCE N0. 06-93
AH ORDINAHCE REVISIHG THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF' THE JOINT
JURISDICTIOH AREA SURROUNDIHG THE CITY OF BROOKINGS PERTAINING TO
PROTECTION AHD PRESERVATION OF THE BIG SIOUX AGUIFER.
BE IT ORDAINED by the governing body of the City of Brookings,
South Dakota, se folloMs, to-ait:
I.
That Section 404. , Aquifer District, be amended as folloMe:
404. ih Class V Iniection Well. A conduit through rhich potentially
contaminated but generally non-hazardoue fluids can move
from the land surface to the sub-eurface; the types of
primary concern are ( 1 ) commercial/industrisl facility
septic tanks rhen they are used to dispose of more than
domestic Nastewater and (2) dry wells for repair/service bay
draine at facilities servicing motorized vehicles/equipment.
404. 2a3c Storage of road salt or disposal of anor containing deicing
chemicals.
404. 2a3m Land epreading or dumping of petroleum contaminated soil,
waste oil, or industrial Mastes
404. 2a3n Class V in�ection Nelle
404. 2b3b Land spreading or dumping of petroleum contaminated �oil,
raste oil, or industrial wastee except for eites permitted
as of January 1, 1993.
404. 2b3c Clasa V injection Mells
II.
All ordinances in conflict hererith are hereby repealed.
