Present:
Rod Schaefer, Teri Ronning; Lee Ann Pierce; Jeff Holm, Tom Richter, Swiftel Executive Director;
Kristina Lanklow, Marketing Manager, Jackie Anderson, Swiftel Center Business Manager.
Agenda Discussions:
Rod Schaefer called the meeting to order.
The September 29, 2016 minutes were approved.
Tom presented August and September 2016 Financial Information. Tom explained that the competition
this year from the venues in our market has had an impact on the Swiftel Center. The seating project in
the arena which took approximately 5 weeks to complete also has had an impact on scheduling events.
Kristina provided a hand out and presented the updates for Sales and Marketing.

Holiday Jam – HEGG Brothers – December 15
Home Free – December 17
Ron White – February 23, 2017
Miranda Lambert – March 3, 2017
RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles – March 10, 2017
Kristina also handed out the Press Release for the Great Service Star Award the Swiftel Center was
presented from South Dakota Department of Tourism. Also the Press Release for the ABLE award
presented to the Swiftel Center for the inclusive seat design.
The Swiftel Center worked with the Brookings Committee for People who have Disabilities and the City
ADA Coordinator to ensure better accessibility for all visitors to the Swiftel Center.
Matt Chapman was not able to attend this meeting. Matt was working at the AA Volleyball Tournament
being held in the arena. His projects include new kitchen flooring to be completed by the end of
December.
During the recent Catholic Youth Rally Matt and his team served 1600 attendees a hot meal in a record
32 minutes.
Jeremy Linstad was also not able to attend the meeting. Jeremy was assisting at the AA Volleyball
Tournament. Jeremy’s current projects include: polishing the arena floor, kitchen flooring, concourse
floor and the completing the punch list for the seating project.
Pepsi will contribute $15,000 to purchase digital menu boards for the concession stands. Pepsi is
currently our pour rights sponsor.
Digital monitors will also be added to the lobby.
Tom reported that the City and County are still negotiating the sale of the county resource center.
Lee Ann Pierce is hopeful there will be an announcement within the next 30 days.
VenuWorks is celebrating their 20 year anniversary this year. Metabank is recognizing the Swiftel
Center in their year-end annual report.
