Present:
Rod Schaefer, Jeff Holm, Jason Wosje, Teri Ronning; Larry Jensen (here for Lee Ann Pierce)
Jeremy Linstad, Swiftel Associate Executive Director; Matt Chapman, Swiftel Center Director of Food and
Beverage/Chef; Jackie Anderson, Swiftel Center Business Manager.
Agenda Discussions:
Rod Schaefer called the meeting to order.
The May 26, 2016 minutes were approved.
Jeremy reviewed the attendance handouts. Attendance is following closely with previous years.
Upcoming events include:
July: GameCon July 29, 30 and 31st also a wedding reception being hosted at the same time in the
Daktronics Banquet room, 4-H Achievement Days and Cartridge Collectors Show.
August: Junk Jam which is being held in the Holding Barn. Approximately 32 vendors are attending.
Volbeat Concert on August 24th. Wing & Brewfest on August 27th. There is also a wedding reception
being held in the Daktronics Banquet room that evening. Seats are being stalled at this time also.
September: BHS Competitive Cheer, 9-ball, Pink Ladies dart tournament and the Brookings Bridal
Show. Also on September 24th there are 2 wedding receptions (1 in the Arena and 1 in the Daktronics
Banquet room).
Previous events discussed were the Uncle Sam Jam, Wedding Receptions held in June, Governor’s Ag
Summit, Got Milk Gala and the Sioux Valley Energy Meeting where we served over 1200.
Ongoing projects include concrete polish, tile project, seating installation and POS system.
Seven employees from the Swiftel Center attended the IVAM conference. Two employees received the
30 under 30 award.
Tom and Kristina also attended VenuWorks Marketing/Executive Director Meeting in Burnsville,
Minnesota.
The County has started negotiations with the City for the sale/purchase of County Resource Center.
Rod adjourned the meeting.
