Present:
Rod Schaefer, Jeff Holm, Jason Wosje, Tom Richter, Swiftel Center Executive Director;
Matt Chapman, Swiftel Center Director of Food and Beverage/Chef; Jackie Anderson, Swiftel Center Business
Manager.
Agenda Discussions:
Rod Schaefer called the meeting to order.
The March 31, 2016 minutes were approved.
February and March 2016 financials were presented.
Tom presented the upcoming Swiftel Center events: Governor’s Ag Summit, Got Milk Gala, Dairyfest
Sioux Valley Energy annual meeting, Hillyard, SDQHA Show, Draft Horse Show, Uncle Sam Jam and
several wedding receptions.
Matt Chapman outlined recent large events: Farmhouse Fraternity celebrated 50 years,
SDSU Rodeo and Gala, CASA Banquet and Brantley Gilbert concert.
Tom outlined the seating replacement project which will be completed by Hussey Seating.
Installation of the new seating will begin the first week of August. New electronic signage monitors will
be added to lobby and concession areas. We will also be replacing the concourse tile and polishing the
concrete floor in the arena. Payment for these updates will be paid through the Capital Improvement
plan and a loan through city landfill for the seating project.
Upcoming concert events that have been added to this year’s schedule include: Volbeat on August 24,
2016, Chris Young on October 22, 2016 and Home Free on December 17, 2016.
Upcoming staff training includes:
Molly Nagelhaut to West Virginia for Public Assembly Management School.
Karla Eidem and Kayla Bessler to Knoxville for Event Booking training.
Kristina Lankow to Nashville, TN for Event and Arena Marketing conference.
Matt Chapman will be accepting the 2016 Generation Next Award from Venues Today Magazine
August, 2016.
The 2017 Budget will be submitted to the city the first week of June.
The meeting was adjourned. Next meeting July 28 at 4:00pm.
