HomeMy WebLinkAboutE911Minutes_2016_02_10EAST CENTRAL REGIONAL COMMUNICATIONS COUNCIL E911 MEETING Wednesday, February 10, 2016; 8:30 a.m. Brookings City & County Government Center, 520 3rd Street Suite 230, Room 241 Board members present: Jeff Weldon (City Manager) and Larry Jensen (County Commission). Others present: Jeff Miller (BPD), Darrell Hartmann (Fire Dept.), and Marty Stanwick (SO). Members Absent: Bob Hill (County Zoning Office), Richard Haugen (County Zoning Office), Mark Stratton (Communications), Ryan Krogman (County Commission) and Jael Thorpe (City Council). Call to order: No motions were made; quorum not represented. Additions to the Agenda: Bills: No motions were made; quorum not represented. Old Business: Update on Next Generation: Staff has been experiencing audio problems. TCS made some adjustments and seems to be working better. Update on Pulse Point: Hartman stated the annual cost for Pulse Point is $8,000 – $9,000 a year for the program. The hardware is purchased separately and must be interfaced with dispatch. One will have to physically go to each AED location and input the information. Hartman doesn’t see the advantage and wouldn’t recommend the program. Miller agreed and mentioned most public buildings have AED’s and all patrol cars have them as well. Update on “I am Responding:” Hartman gave a brief overview on “I am Responding.” The annual cost is $850. The computers will be installed in 6 vehicles, which include Hartman’s and Bolzer’s. Hartman will be conducting tests with the company with hot spots. Member reports: Miller shared he has heard about the possibility of rolling back the surcharge money to $1.00 from $1.25. Nothing concrete has been seen.  Next meeting: April 20, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.  Regular quarterly meetings are held in January, April, July, and October on the third Thursday of the month.
