MINUTES
The Board of Trustees of the Brookings Public Library met on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. in
the Historical Room of the Brookings Public Library
MEMBERS PRESENT: Bill Gengler, Janell Hoffelt, Deb Waltman
OTHERS PRESENT: Ashia Gustafson, Alice Hayes
Call to Order
Bill Gengler called the meeting to order. Bill introduced Director of Library Services Ashia Gustafson to
Janell Hoffelt and Deb Waltman.
Approval of Agenda
Bill Gengler called for approval of the meeting agenda. Janell Hoffelt moved to approve the meeting
agenda. Deb Waltman seconded. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes
Bill Gengler called for approval of the minutes from the February 11, 2016 meeting. Janell Hoffelt
moved to approve the minutes. Deb Waltman seconded. Motion carried.
New Business
Approve February Bills
Ashia Gustafson provided on overview of the February bills. Janell Hoffelt moved to approve the January
list of bills. Deb Waltman seconded. Motion carried.
Approve Annual State Report
Ashia Gustafson presented the Library’s completed Annual Survey of SD Public Libraries 2015. Deb
Waltman moved to approve the annual report. Janell Hoffelt seconded. Motion carried.
Other Items and Reports
Financial Reports
Ashia Gustafson presented on overview of the financial reports for the General Fund, Fines Account and
Gifts Account.
Librarian’s Report
Ashia Gustafson presented her monthly report to the Board. She noted that the Library’s new telephone
system is scheduled to be installed on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. The Library will also be
installing a new door counter in the lobby, once the necessary data lines are installed.
Janell Hoffelt moved to adjourn the meeting. Deb Waltman seconded. Motion carried. The meeting was
adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
