HomeMy WebLinkAboutSCACMinutes_2016_01_28Swiftel Center Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes Thursday, January 28, 2016 @ 4:00pm Mezzanine Conference Room Present: Rod Schaefer, Jason Wosje, Alan Gregg, Teri Ronning, Jennifer Johnson, Lee Ann Pierce; Tom Richter, Swiftel Center Executive Director; Jeremy Linstad, Swiftel Center Associate Executive Director; Andrea Hogie, Swiftel Center Director of Finance. Agenda Discussions:  Rod called the meeting to order.  The November 19, 2015 minutes were approved.  Rod was nominated & selected as the Chairperson. Teri was nominated & selected as the Vice Chairperson.  November financials were presented. December financials are in progress.  Tom presented the 4th quarter events, event days and attendance.  Tom presented the upcoming events for Kristina. Some events include:15th Anniversary/Chamber Mixer, Hairball concert, Bridal Show, State Gymnastics, Lee Brice concert, Home Show, State 8 Ball Pool Tournament, Wildfire Cheer & Dance, Easter Egg Hunt, various meetings.  Tom reported for Matt. He is continuing the Best of Brookings table backstage for the artists in 2016. The Tri Company Dart tournament did well for food & beverage. Everything is now on wheels in the kitchen.  Jeremy updated the CIP projects: the Daktronics banquet room has new lighting & sound system, the Box Office remodel is finished. Other items to be finished this year are the kitchen ceiling & floor as well as lobby digital displays & concourse floor. We will prioritize the CIP projects for 2016 once we have the amount of the loan payment to be made for the retractable risers. Scott Smith is back full time and Dave Biteler went to part time. Dustin Huber will be starting full time in March.  Tom will be attending the Pollstar conference in California in February. The City is doing an intercity loan between the landfill & us for the retractable risers. We will be starting the bidding process for the risers soon. VenuWorkers had an article about our Tough Enough campaign. The current management contract between VenuWorks and the City of Brookings expires in July. VenuWorks will be presenting an addendum to the management contract to extend the current agreement for another 5 year period. Tom visited with members of the City of Pierre about their interest in building an event center like the Swiftel Center.  The meeting was adjourned. Next meeting March 31, 2016 at 4:00pm.
