Present:
Rod Schaefer, Barb Telkamp, Teri Ronning, Tom Coughlin, Rob Peterson; Tom Richter, Swiftel Center
Executive Director; Scott Smith, Swiftel Center Director of Operations; Jenny Hammrich, Swiftel Center
Director of Sales/Marketing; Andrea Hogie, Swiftel Center Business Manager.
Agenda Discussions:
Tom C called the meeting to order. Rod motioned to approve the minutes from July 29, 2010. Rob
seconded. The motion passed.
July and August financials were presented.
Jenny presented the events for October and November 2010. Some events include: Wind Conference,
SD Beef Council, Bob & Tom Comedy All Stars, Oktoberfest, Jehovah Witness, SDSU Equestrian,
PRCA Rodeo, Disney Live, CMT Tour with Miranda Lambert, Weslyan Church Thanskgiving Festival,
Supercross. In December we have Newsong and Manheim Steam Roller.
Scott reported that another full time position will be added to the operations department. The arena
lighting project has been accepted and will begin in October. He is working on getting quotes for new
spotlights as part of our capital improvement.
Tom reported that since the arena lighting project came in lower than expected we are working on a few
more capital improvement items for this year such as another marquee sign on 22nd Avenue, moving the
other dirt pile north, giving the interior a fresh look. The building expansion was taken off the strategic
plan but need to keep the message out there that our storage and office needs have not gone away. The
state has changed the process for temporary liquor licenses so now they will need to be approved by the
City Council.
Tom C adjourned the meeting. Next meeting will be determined due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.
