Present:
Rod Schaefer, Barb Telkamp, Teri Ronning, Deb Garbers, Rob Peterson, Al Gregg; Tom Richter,
Swiftel Center Executive Director; Scott Smith, Swiftel Center Director of Operations; Andrea Hogie, Swiftel
Center Business Manager.
Agenda Discussions:
Rob called the meeting to order. Rod motioned to approve the minutes from May 27, 2010. Barb
seconded. The motion passed.
May and June financials were presented.
The 2nd Quarter Events, Event Days, Attendance & Economic Impact were presented.
Tom gave an update on the building expansion. The topic was taken off the City’s strategic plan and CIP
at the June 8th City Council Meeting. However the issues of storage and office space have not gone
away.
Tom presented the events for August and September 2010. The Wing Festival will be the biggest event
in August which will include a Brew Fest new this year. Other events include Johnny Holm, Circus,
Cage Fighting, Craft Fair, and Pool Tournament.
Scott reported that the big dirt pile has been moved to north of the RV parking lot in an effort to clean up
the east side. The kitchen was completely cleaned out and painted. He is still working on the lighting
projects and other CIP items like spotlights and ballards out front.
Tom reported that he and Scott attended the IAAM meeting in Houston. We were given a Prime Site
Award from the Facilities Magazine which is a national trade magazine. Some upcoming events include
Wind Conference, Bob & Tom show, PRCA Rodeo, Disney Live, CMT Tour with Miranda Lambert,
Supercross, Christmas music by Manheim Steamroller, and Church Basement Ladies in March 2011.
Rob adjourned the meeting. Next meeting will be September 30, 2010 4:00pm.
