Present:
Rod Schaefer, Barb Telkamp, Teri Ronning, Rob Peterson; Tom Richter, Swiftel Center Executive
Director; Scott Smith, Swiftel Center Director of Operations; Jenny Hammrich, Swiftel Center Director of
Sales/Marketing;
Agenda Discussions:
Tom called the meeting to order. Rod motioned to approve the minutes from January 25, 2010. Barb
seconded. The motion passed.
January and February financials were presented.
The Year End Report was presented.
Tom gave an update on the building expansion. There have been 5 developers who have shown interest
but all have said that there are more stipulations for loaning money so it is challenging. The process will
be much slower than we anticipated due to the economy.
Jenny presented the events for April and May 2010. Some events include SDSU Rodeo, Quilt Show,
Whitetails Banquet, Cage Fighting with a new promoter, SDSU Athletic Banquet, GooGoo Dolls. She
also unveiled the new website which is more user friendly and eye pleasing.
Scott reported on building upgrades. Phase I of the lighting project is done in the lobby, concourse, and
arena. It is a fluorescent lighting system which is more efficient.
Tom reported that the Sold Out Jason Aldean concert was the largest one we have ever done with an
attendance of 5500+ which is our maximum capacity. BATA figured they shuttled 2000 people from
Daktronics parking lots. State AAU wrestling went well. We have received good comments from both
events on our staff. The Mother’s Day Brunch is more of a PR event for us so we are still trying to
decide if we will continue to do it. The Advisory Board is in favor of continuing the brunch. The
GooGoo Dolls will be in concert in May.
Tom adjourned the meeting. Next meeting will be May 27, 2010 4:00pm.
