Agenda Discussions:  Rod called the meeting to order. Deb motioned to approve the minutes from July 30, 2009. Teri seconded. The motion passed.  July and August financials were presented.  Tom gave an update on the building expansion. The RFP’s to architectural firms came back ranging from $40,000 to $110, 000 - all of them were rejected. Jeff Weldon & Tom met with JLG and negotiated a deal to have them update their drawings and give current cost estimates. They will be presented to the City Council in either November or December. The hotel developers that we have met with have expressed no interest in building the convention meeting space. The resource center may be a possibility for us to expand into to alleviate our office space needs and give us additional meeting rooms. The expansion maybe affected by other projects the City has such as the Airport and Performing Arts Center.  Tom presented the board with a copy of the events for October and November 2009. Some events include Fury Fights, Women’s Expo (new event), Extension Conference, Jehovah Witness, First Chance Bonanza Rodeo, SDSU Equestrian, Flo Rida Concert, Lifelight Concert, Disney Live, Roller Dollz, and Midwest Supercross.  Scott reported on building upgrades. The arena lighting project is going to be partially funded by stimulus money. It will be completed in a couple of phases. First phase will be replacing the existing light fixtures above the blue seats, mezzanine, and concourse to more efficient fluorescent light fixtures. Second phase will be adding more foot candles of light above the arena floor. We have received 3 proposals for sealing the arena concrete floor and we will be selecting a contractor soon. Bids were sent out for horse stalls but none came back so now we will get three quotes. The landscaping is being updated on the east side of the county. We have an all staff training next week.  Tom reported that we are in our 4th year of the Tough Enough to wear Pink campaign. Some of the money raised goes to the local “I Can Cope” Program which provides support for families, survivors, and patients with cancer. Tom will be giving the County Commission a tour of the R&T building next week. The 2010 budget has been approved. Some of the items that were questioned were the concrete in the holding barn and the arena lighting but they stayed in the budget.  Rod adjourned the meeting. Next meeting to be determined because of the Thanksgiving Holiday.
