Present:
Rod Schaefer, Teri Ronning; Matthew Nelson; Rob Peterson; Al Gregg; Tom Richter, Swiftel Center
Executive Director; Scott Smith, Swiftel Center Director of Operations; Andrea Hogie, Swiftel Center Business
Manager.
Agenda Discussions:
Rod called the meeting to order. Rob motioned to approve the minutes from February 5, 2009.
Matthew seconded. The motion passed.
January and February financials were presented. Tom passed around the year end report. Matthew
motioned to take the NSF amount of $167.64 off of the books that has been there since 2007. Rob
seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Tom gave an update on the building expansion. Tom is continually talking with the City Manager to
keep the council moving on the issue and to keep it in the forefront. It is listed as part of the 2009 city
goals. The slower economy is a concern but developers are still calling asking if it is happening.
Tom presented the board with a copy of the events for April and May 2009. Some events include SDSU
Rodeo, Easter Egg hunt with a pancake feed, Circus, Cage Fighting, Hinder/Theory of a Deadman, horse
shows, Stan Marshall, Larry Cable Guy.
Scott reported on building upgrades. We are working on the arena lighting to make it brighter over the
competition area. He is working on the capital budget for the next 5 years.
Tom reported that the judge ruled in Lance Parks (4 Star Catering) favor. Therefore we had to pay what
was due. We have sold signage to Cubby’s and the Lantern Lounge. We have two visionary signs left
at $3000/year each. The Cage fighting ordinance is on the City Council agenda tonight at 6:00pm. The
pool & dart tournaments were a huge success. He mentioned that Jenny & Andrea attended a very
beneficial webinar with him. It was presented by IAAM entitled “Thriving in a Tough Economy”.
Tom invited everyone to attend our Employee Appreciation on April 21st at 6:00pm.
Rod adjourned the meeting. Next meeting is scheduled for May 28, 2009 at 4:00pm.
