Presentation and discussion of SDSU Student Discount Club Motion carried. The Board reviewed the 2009 EdgeBrook Golf Course operations with Dave Spaulding and Bruce Hovelson present. Generally, it was a good year for season ticket sales and greens fee rounds; even with a lot of poor weather. Course conditions were good throughout the year. Income for 2009 was $40,000 over 2008, helping reduce the city general fund contribution to the golf course fund. Discussion concerned policies for 2010 with the opening of the Executive Nine Short Course. Suggestions for policy include the following: YOUTH POLICIES • Free with youth season ticket Restrict to weekday mornings(?) • Reduced per round rate w/out season ticket (?) for youth only - $5 per round/punch card $50 ? • 12 and under free if accompanied by adult (adult pays if plays) • Junior league • Morning youth lessons 1-2 days per week on short course GENERAL USE • $7 per round • No executive nine only season tickets • Punch card 10 for $50, season ticket holders only • Motorized carts limited to handicap tag use only The December Board meeting will continue that discussion and also begin review of 2010 fees. The Board and staff discussed the 2009 Hillcrest Aquatic Center operations and included discussion regarding the length and closing date for the 2010 season. Gary Aguiar was present and suggested that serious consideration be given to finding a way to stay open after school starts in August, given the early school date and to make greatest use of the investment the community has in our Aquatic Center. Further discussion will be placed on the agenda for the December meeting. Dave Leiferman explained the SDSU Student Discount Club , which encourages businesses to offer cash discounts for purchases by SDSU students with a valid Student ID card, and wondering if Parks and Recreation would be interested in some way. No action was taken at this time. Meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted, Allyn Frerichs, Recording Secretary
