Monday, December 17, 2012 at 11 a.m.
City & County Government Center – 520 3rd Street
City Administration, Chambers & Community Room, Third Floor
1. Call to Order – 11:12 am
a. Attendance: George, Lawrence, Chandradhar, Penny, Patty
2. Adoption of the Agenda – consensus
3. Approval of minutes – deferred to the next meeting
4. Schedule next meeting – January 17, 2013 at 5 pm
5. Nominating Committee Report – Chandradhar presented the slate of George for chair,
Rebecca for vice chair and Patty for recorder. Lawrence moved to elect the slate of
officers. Penny seconded. Motion carried.
6. Action on the Dr. Martin Luther King Contest Awards –
a. 46 essays were submitted. The essays were distributed to the committee members and
a decision was made to meet at noon on Tuesday, December 18 to vote on the
winners. Everyone is to have their top five essays to George by 11 am on Tuesday.
b. 331 posters were reviewed and the winners were determined. We learned mid-way
through the meeting that another 25 posters would be delivered on Tuesday. The
committee will review them at that time.
