Minutes of the Meeting of January 12, 2010 at Noon
City Hall, 311 Third Avenue
Present: Steve Bayer, Dwivedi Chandradhar, Angela Hatton, Dianne Nagy, Ann Marie Bahr,
Penny Hauffe, Lawrence Novotny, and Shari Thornes
Not Present: Jay Vargas, George Hamer, Patty Bacon, and Ashley Kuecker

1. Call to Order: 12:00 p.m.
2. Adoption of the Agenda was so moved by Hauffe, seconded by Chandradhar and
approved by voice vote.
3. Election of Officers. A motion was made by Novotny, seconded by Hauffe, to
nominate the current officers for 2010: Bayer as chair, Hamer as vice chair and Vargas
as recording secretary. All present voted yes; motion carried.
4. Dr. MLK Contest Judging. A motion was made by Chandradhar, seconded by
Hauffe, to approve the following awards. All present voted yes; motion carried.
Grades K-1 – Poster
Maggie Bedow – 1st Place - $25.00 - Hillcrest Elementary – 1st Grade
Micah Ardry – 2nd Place - $10.00, Hillcrest Elementary – Kindergarten
Grades 2-3 - Poster
Eleanor Abraham – 1st Place - $25.00 - Hillcrest Elementary – 2nd Grade
Ellie Fitzpatrick – 2nd Place - $10.00 - Hillcrest Elementary – 2nd Grade
Grades 4-5 - Poster
Klara Beinhorn – 1st Place - $25.00 - Camelot Intermediate School – 5th Grade
