Minutes of the Meeting of November 5, 2009 at 12:30 p.m.
City Hall, 311 Third Avenue
Present: Ann Marie Bahr, Dwivedi Chandradhar, Ashley Kuecker, Lawrence Novotny,
Jay Vargas and Laurie Carruthers
Not Present: Steve Bayer, George Hamer, Angela Hatton, and Penny Hauffe

1. Call to Order: 12:38 p.m.
2. Adoption of the Agenda was so moved by Dwivedi Chandradhar, seconded by
Lawrence Novotny and approved by voice vote.
3. Approval of the October minutes was tabled to November 19th meeting.
4. Next meeting: November 19, 2009 at 11:00 am.
5. Selection of 2009 Butler Award: Individuals that were nominated were: Geoffrey
Grant and Dianne Nagy. Lawrence Novotny made a motion to select Geoffrey Grant as
the 2009 recipient of the Butler Award, seconded by Dwivedi Chandradhar and
approved by voice vote. Lawrence Novotny informed committee he will get in contact
with Geoffrey Grant to inform him of his selection and to obtain possible dates for the
committee to formally present him with the award. Additionally, possible dates from
Mayor Reed will be obtain for him to attend the ceremony. Possible locations for the
event will be provided to committee, if a date for the ceremony has been selected, by the
November 19th meeting.
It was recommended that on the nomination form, the committee should clarify the
points regarding the following: 1. Length of service
2. Not part of a person’s employment
6. Adjournment was voiced at 1:21.
