HomeMy WebLinkAboutE911Minutes_2010_07_15East Central Communications Council Meeting City Hall Meeting Room Thursday, July 15, 2010 8:30am Board members present: Dennis Falken(County Commission), Mike McClemans(City Council), and Al Gregg(County Commission). Others present: Todd Struwe(Emergency Mgmt.), Jeff Miller(BPD), and Marty Stanwick (SO). Members Absent: Jeff Weldon (City Manager), Mark Stratton(Communications), Bob Hill (Zoning), and Darrell Hartmann(Fire Dept). Call to order: Meeting called to order by Dennis Falken. Al Gregg/Mike McClemans moved to approve the minutes of the May 21, 2010 meeting. All present voted aye. Motion approved. Addition to the Agenda: None Bills: Dennis Falken/Jeff Miller reviewed the non recurring bills. McClemans/Gregg moved to approve the non recurring bills. All present voted aye. Motion approved. Old Business: Two Person Rule: Falken gave a follow up on the proposed statewide guidelines that will go in affect July 2013 and thinks Brookings will comply with the rule. New Business: Duel County Dispatching: Miller and Stratton communicated with Duel County and feel confident they will join our PSAP. He stated we need to look at adding additional staff to meet the requirement. Miller asked what they receive for surcharge money; $27,000. Falken asked Miller to send a letter to Lake Co. and Moody Co. and offer our services. Miller mentioned there will be a minimum cost of $30,000 if we take on Deuel County. Capacity is at its maximum currently. Falken stated Deuel Co. will have to pay for that. Stanwick stated one of the concerns if more counties join our PSAP is that two dispatchers might not be enough. Member Reports The next meeting is set for October 21, 2010 at 8:30am Regular quarterly meetings are held in January, April, July, and October on the 3rd Thursday of the month.
