Item #4 – Transportation Provider Updates - BATA- Brenda Schweitzer said the On Track Program continues to increase in number of rides. BATA had worked the last two concerts at the Swiftel Center. BATA also works through The Visitor’s Bureau and the Police Department on large events. Hartenhoff-Crooks asked Schweitzer about the non-compete clause in the Federal regulations. Schweitzer said that if BATA gets a call after 10:00 PM, she must advertize accordingly in order to take the ride, and she must also be able and available to serve all riders. Forgy was concerned about the needs of the handicapped. Schweitzer said, if it is after 10:00 PM, and if she had advertized, she can take that ride. She added that in the evening, most rides are for employment purposes. Jones asked if Boji Rides (taxi service) still operated in Brookings. Schweitzer said the owner had a family conflict and left Brookings. She did not know if they would be back.
