6:10 p.m.
The Board of Trustees and CEO Search Committee met in Executive Session citing SDCL 1-25-
2(1) Personnel. The members met at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2011. A plated meal
was served.
At 6:07 the two groups went into executive session. Executive session ended at 8:17 p.m.
A motion by Booher/McKnight to go with Option 2 – CEO candidate Jason Merkley. Votes: Jones,
Opposed, Baker, Yes, Wicks, Yes, Booher, Yes, Brown, Yes, Faltemier, Yes, Johnston, Yes, McKnight,
Yes, Whaley, Yes. Motion carried.
At 8:20 p.m. a motion by McKnight/Brown to go back into executive session citing 1-25-2(3) Contractual
Matters. Members present: Jones, Baker, Zeno W. Wicks, III, Booher, Brown, Faltemier, Johnston,
McKnight, Whaley. Executive session ended at 8:33 p.m.
A motion by McKnight/Brown to approve the base pay of $180,000 plus incentives (car allowance,
country club membership, cell phone, SDRS Retirement and other standard benefits). Motion
unanimously approved. Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 8:34 p.m.
