Chairperson Olson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. on May 5,, 2009 in Conference
Room A & B at the hospital.
From a pool of 43 candidates, packets were reviewed containing 11 semi-finalists (Branco,
Detterman, Failing, Harff, Klosterman, Matlack, Noland, Quinton, Oberg, Rencher, Smith).
Waltz based his selection on experience, education and years of service. The committee
discussed strengths and weaknesses of each of the eleven candidates. A vote was taken
and the committee members would conduct reference checks on the top six candidates (in
order of votes received: Branco, Harff, Failing, Smith, Oberg, Rencher, based on Waltz’s’
recommendation, it was decided to add Detterman). Johnston volunteered to contact all
physicians that the top candidates listed. It was agreed the committee would do a verbal
report at the May 11 CEO Search Committee Meeting.
Meeting concluded at 9:15 a.m. The next meeting scheduled for May 11 at 7:00 p.m.
