This free CD-ROM contains a complete collection of the DOJ’s ADA materials. It includes the regulations, architectural design standards, and technical assistance publications. ƒ Transcript of the Public Hearing on Notices of Proposed Rulemaking, held on July 15, 2008 by the Department of Justice: http://www.ada.gov/NPRM2008/public_hearing_transcript.htm ƒ On July 15, the Department of Justice (DOJ) broadcast the public hearing on “Proposals to Amend Regulations under Titles II and III of the ADA.” The DOJ is now making the rebroadcast of the public hearing available, in Windows Media and Real Media formats with real-time captioning. Follow this link to access the rebroadcast: http://www.ada.gov/NPRM2008/nprmwebcastinfo.php. ƒ Ask DOJ: Proposal to Revise ADA Regulations under Title II and Title III On June 17, 2008 the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division published the long awaited proposed regulations to revise the Department's ADA regulations for State and local governments and public accommodations and commercial facilities, including its ADA Standards for Accessible Design. This special 2 hour session provides individuals an opportunity to learn more about the proposed regulations and direct specific questions to the U.S. Department of Justice. Throughout the year, specific events are held to bring awareness and information to our citizens. Technical assistance is provided to the business community, private individuals, governmental entities, and non-profit organizations. The goals of this service are to improve the quality of life for people who have disabilities through enhancing the knowledge base of entities in the community; and to further serve as a community-based advocacy group enhancing the ability of local entities to comply with Federal Civil Rights legislation.
