3. Approve Agenda: (Gregg/Matson-Buus) Motion to approve agenda.
All present voted aye. MOTION CARRIED.
4. 2010 Budget Update – Bob updated the members on the budget for year 2010. The
capital for the year 2009 is in good shape. In 2010 we will be constructing a new cell for
more space needs and the money needed is in place for the project. The main decision
will come in the year 2011 with what to do when the 973 track machine comes up for
replacement. In 2011 there will be a cash shortage and the one thing we could do is buy
out the 973 for $ 50,000 and keep it until we can purchase a new one or borrow the funds
and replace the old one right away. Right now Bob does not think borrowing the money
would be good and he is thinking about buying the machine out for the $ 50,000.
5. Pandemic Influenza Planning – Bob informed the members that the H1N1 swine flu
shots will be available this fall on a limited basis. They are hoping that the companies
producing the vacate will get in full force with the idea that by December of 2009 there
will be vacate available for everyone in need. Right now it is possibly that when people
go in to get their flu shots they could end up with three shots instead of one.
The death rate is expected to be 3000 nation wide with the seasonal flu. They will target
the young kids, Health workers, women pregnant and the elderly. The general population
that is over 50 years old will have a slower reaction to it
6. SDSWMA Meeting – The Annual South Dakota Solid Waste Conference will be held
in Spearfish South Dakota starting on September 22nd, thru September 25th, 2009.
Any Board members who would like to attend please contact Bob or Todd.
7. Other Business – LuAnn discussed the pickup of old prescription drugs that people
are miss handling and if the landfill would store them and have a company pick them up
at a later date.
Next meeting: October 2009
8. Adjournment: (Irwin/Wagner) Motion to adjourn meeting. All present voted aye.
MOTION CARRIED.
