Brookings City Councii
February 16, 2016
The Brookings City Council heid a Study Session on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at
5:00 p.m., at City Hall with the following members present: Mayor Tim Reed, Council
Members Keith Corbett, Dan Hansen, Ope Niemeyer, David M. Meyer, and Patty
Bacon. Council Member Jael Thorpe was absent. City Attorney Steve Britzman, City
Manager Jeffrey Weldon, and City Clerk Shari Thornes were also present.
FIRST READING: Ordinance 16-007. Introduction and first reading was held on
Ordinance 16-007, an Ordinance to rezone Lot 3, Block 1, Foster Addition from an
Industrial I-1 R District to an Industrial I-1 District. Public Hearing: February 23, 2016.
FIRST READING: Ordinance 16-008. Introduction and first reading was held on
Ordinance 16-008, an Ordinance for an Amendment to Chapter 94, Zoning, revising the
definition of Agriculture. Public Hearing: February 23, 2016.
Discussion topics included pre-schematic building layout design for the proposed
Brookings Recreation Center and City Council Ex-Officio Reports.
Adiourn. A motion was made by Council Member Hansen, seconded by Council
Member Corbett, to adjourn the meeting at 6:18 p.m. The motion carried by a
unanimous vote.
