HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 23-1997 � r s ORDINANCE NO. 23-97 AN ORDINANCE REVISING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS PERTAINING TO ACCESS DRIVES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA, THAT ARTICLE VII, CHAPTER 50, THE 1994 REVISED ZONING ORDINANCE SHALL BE AMENDED, AS FOLLOWS, TO-WIT: I. Section 50.70.600 ACCESS DRIVES A. Business and Industrial Districts The following regulations shall apply to all lots in the business and industrial districts. 4. The maximum access drive width shall be thirty feet(30'). Exception: Gas dispensing stations and similar uses may install access drives up to forty feet(40')in width. 5. On corner lots, access drives shall not be installed within fifteen feet (15') of either front property line when said line is extended to the curb or street. 6. Access drives from the street ar curb to the property line shall be surfaced with asphalt or concrete. B. Residential Districts The following regulations shall apply to all lots in the residential districts. 1. No more than one(1) access drive shall be permitted onto any street which the lot or block abuts. Exception: a. An apartment building or apartment complex, church, school, retirement or nursing home, or other assembly use on a lot or block with one hundred fifty feet (150') ar more of frontage on any street may install one(1) additional access drive. II. All ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
