ORDINANCE NO. 19-99
AN ORDINANCE REVISING TI� ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
BROOKINGS PERTAINING TO ACCESSORY BUII,DINGS AND USES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TI� GOVERNING BODY OF TI-� CITY OF BROOKINGS,
SOUTH DAKOTA, THAT ARTICLE VII. GENERAL REGULATIONS OF CHAPTER 50, THE
1994 REVISED ZONING ORDINANCE SHALL BE AMENDED, AS FOLLOWS, TO-WIT:
I.
50.70.250
Accessory Buildings and Uses
A
6. The total square footage of a11 accessory buildings on a lot used for residential putposes
in the R-lA,R-1B,R-2,RMI�R-3,R-3A and RB-4 districts shall not exceed 25 percent
of the rear yard area.or 1,000 square feet whichever is less.
Exceptions:
1. Lots with apartment buildings,townhouses, condominiums and similar uses
2. For the oses of calculatin�the rear yard area for a corner l�,the ortion of the
secondazv front ��azd abuttin�the rear yazd sha11 be included in the rear�area.
3. For the puiposes of calculatin�the rear� area for double fron e lots or lots
with more than two fronta�es, the rear �ud area shall be opposite the assigned
street address.
II.
All ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
