Brookings City Council
August 19, 2014
The Brookings City Council held a study session on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 5:00 p.m., at City
Hall with the following members present: Mayor Tim Reed, Council Members Jael Thorpe,John
Kubal, Dan Hansen,Tom Bezdichek, Ope Niemeyer and Keith Corbett. City Attorney Steve
Britzman, City Manager Jeff Weldon and City Clerk Shari Thornes were aiso present.
Discussion topics included the 2015 proposed budget and City Council ex-officio reports.
Topics for future discussion. A motion was made by Hansen, seconded by Niemeyer,to review
EdgeBrook Golf Course regarding costs, revenues and CIP at a future study session in October
or November. All present voted yes; motion carried.
A motion was made by Bezdichek, seconded by Niemeyer,to request a report on the future
uses of the land near the airport, not date specific. All present voted yes; motion carried.
Executive Session. A motion was made by Hansen, seconded by Corbett,to enter into
executive session at 7:07 p.m.to consult with legal counsel about proposed or pending
contractual matters with the City Attorney, City Manager, City Clerk, Ryan Krogman and Jackie
Lanning present. A motion was made by Corbett,seconded by Niemeyer,to exit executive
session at 7:48 p.m.
Adiourn. A motion was made by Corbett, seconded by Hansen,to adjourn. All present voted
yes; motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
