Brookings City Council
luly 15, 2014
The Brookings City Council held a study session on Tuesday,July 15, 2014 at 5:00 p.m., at City
Hall with the following members present: Mayor Tim Reed, Council Members Jael Thorpe,John
Kubal, Dan Hansen,Tom Bezdichek, Ope Niemeyer and Keith Corbett. City Attorney Steve
Britzman, City Manager Jeff Weldon, City Clerk Shari Thornes and Communications Specialist
Laurie Carruthers were also present.
Discussion topics: Report from the Police and Fire Departments on issues of growth,trends,
crime statistics and neighborhood trends; report of ineeting with Governor Daugaard's staff
regarding impact of state employee health insurance Tier 1 provision; a presentation of the
Brookings Benchmarks Baseline Sustainability Report; and City Council ex-officio reports.
Thornes left at 7:03 p.m. Carruthers clerked the remainder of the meeting.
Adiourn. A motion was made by Kubal, seconded by Bezdichek,to adjourn. All present voted
yes; motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:06 p.m.
